Provenance
Possibly a gift from Polish composer and pianist Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941) to Isabella Stewart Gardner when he performed at her Beacon Street home in 1892.
Commentary
Isabella Stewart Gardner kept meticulous records of many of her acquisitions. In keeping with this legacy, object information is continually being reviewed, updated, and enriched in order to give greater access to the collection.
