This series of lithographs show light-skinned men and women dressed in formal attire to attend the Paris Opera. Some lithographs show single figures while others show groups. The people are often rendered humorously, even caricatured. Some of the men are hunched, paunchy, or wiry; others strike poses. The fewer women have long gowns, prominent hats, and sometimes waspish waists. They are typically rendered in black and white but there are some soft colors scattered about. Two lithographs include ballerinas backstage, and one even includes a dog.
