These two Venetian painted nightstands are an aged yellow color and highly decorated with painted motifs of baskets of flowers and greenery and curving ribbons and bows.  The top is covered with a dark paint or other covering; under the top is a small layer, possibly a drawer, with a larger cabinet underneath, set on four relatively short footed legs.  The drawer and cabinet layers each have raised painted borders with an inner vertical basket and ribbon motif framing the outer edges, and a larger, inner raised painted border framing a larger basket design.  The legs are topped with a carved rosetta and are also painted with a vertical basket and ribbon motif.  The sides are similarly decorated.  The motif paint now largely appears green and brown, but shows some signs of original reds and blues.   Some areas of paint are faded, and small areas of borders are missing.
