This delicate Shepherdess Figurine was made of Meissen porcelain in mid-19th Century Germany. The shepherdess is standing in front of a dark, tree stump with two white sheep lying at the base of the trunk. Behind the trunk a white inverted cup-shaped object with curving white projections are embellished with gold and further decorate the bottom of this figurine. The white-skinned shepherdess has blue, upward looking eyes, red, closed lips and blond waist-length hair, pulled behind her head falling down her back with a thick lock falling over her left shoulder.  She wears a ruffled scooped-neck, long, puffy-sleeved blouse over by a form-fitting blue vest with yellow and blue stripes coursing down her front and meeting in a sharp V below her waist. The bottom of the blue vest is scalloped and outlined in gold. Below the vest a full, white skirt with a light purple flower print and an occasional blue flower, swirls in the breeze. A colorful sash of repeating green, red, and white stripes runs from over her left shoulder down across her abdomen to terminate over her right hip. She also wears a wide brimmed, light purple hat is perched on her head, and yellow, high-heeled shoes with large purple bows in the centers. She holds a small nosegay of flowers in her left hand; and in her right hand, a slightly curved light brown staff crosses in front of her dress. The entire figurine rests on a brown round base with a smaller circular ring on top of a larger ring raised from the surface on three, squat legs.
