This  small, blue glazed statuette depicts Isis, an Egyptian goddess. The statuette is made of faience, an ancient precursor of glass and ceramics, and has been broken off at the waist.  Her right arm is bent at the elbow and she is holding her left breast with her clearly articulate right fingers; the left arm, held straight downward, has been broken above the elbow. She appears to be wearing a form fitting, long sleeved, high scooped-neck dress slightly textured through the upper bodice.  Her mid-chest length hair falls straight down her chest and back in multiple strands, possibly woven, running straight across her forehead and tucked behind her very large ears.  Her detailed face faces forward, with blank eyes  and almost-smiling closed mouth. On her head she wears a very high rectangular headpiece which has a small downward tab on the bottom front and two horizontal grooves, one near the top and the other near the bottom.   On the back, a narrower, very long, rectangular, possibly supporting piece, runs behind Isis’ headpiece, head and body to her waist where it too has been broken off.
