This etching is a portrait of a light-skinned woman identified as Mrs. Nagel. Her head and neck are detailed, as she looks solemnly to our left. Her medium-colored hair is in a bun at the back of her head. She has a small nose and mouth and dark deep-set eyes. She casts a shadow to our left, as the source of light appears to be from our right. Her clothing is loosely sketched. This work is signed and dated on the lower right.
