This late 18th century carved Chinese figurine depicts Queen Hsi Wang Mu and her attendants. This greenish-white jade figurine depicts two standing human figures. In the middle of the composition is a taller person who is dressed in a long gown with graceful flowing sleeves and a crown-like head dress. She holds her hands clasped together at chest level. On our left is a smaller figure also dressed in a long gown with flowing sleeves who holds an urn in their extended hands. To the right of these figures is a seated horned deer. The backdrop is a rocky cave-like structure with a tree trunk to our far left. This carving is displayed on a teak stand that has a solid top tier and an open carved work tier below.
