This pear-shaped bas relief plaque has a flat top with two curved sides that flare out at the base. It is carved from walnut. It is charcoal gray with some brighter areas. It depicts the resurrection of Christ. Four figures, all wearing helmets and two with plaited armor skirts, surround the central figure of Jesus, who is standing above them and appears to be floating. The figure to the bottom right of Christ is prone and covering their eyes. Another, on the bottom left of Christ, is standing holding a shield and recoils, covering their head with their hand. A third, only partially visible on the edge of the plaque to Christ’ right, grips a small knife or top of a spear in their right hand. The last figure, near Christ’s left calf, is shown with only the top of their helmet facing the viewer and an arm at a horizontal, as if lying face down. The Christ figure holds a staff and towers above the soldiers. A spikey halo surrounds his head. He is clothed in only a single sash. It is draped over his left shoulder and around his lower torso.
