Magnifying Glass, 19th century
Wood with gilded leather and glass, 27 x 9.5 cm (10 5/8 x 3 3/4 in.)
This magnifying glass is made of a long, thin handle and round rim, both made of wood covered in worn, gilded leather. The glass magnifying lens is in the center of the rim. The gilding decorations consists of two, parallel rows of elongated linked scrolls. Two gilded florette decorations adorn the bottom tip of the handle.
