This gilded copper statue of the Buddha sits cross-legged on a bi-level platform. His right hand rests on his right knee with the fingers pointed downward grazing the surface of the platform, and his left hand is facing upward on his lap with an open palm and slightly spread fingers. He wears a robe which is partially open over the right side of his chest and drapes over his left shoulder, running down his chest and abdomen with folds covering the right side of his torso and extending over his right arm and lower shoulder. His pants seem to be loose, falling in folds over the front of his legs. Both his robe and pants are incised with a very faint flower and vine design. Three gilded rings encircle his neck, and his ears are very large with elongated earlobes. His eyebrows are arched; eyes half-closed slits; mouth closed; and there is hair on his temples and forehead.  In the center of the top of his head a cranial bump is topped by a tall fluted head piece with a rounded gold form at the pinnacle. The two stacked platforms upon which he sits are oblong shaped, and each decorated at the sides with a row of semi-circular shapes.
