This horizontal pen-and-ink sketch depicts some architectural details from the Casa Loredan in Venice. Moving from the bottom to the top, in the bottom right corner the artist has sketched a turret-like structure with a heart-shaped hole in its center of its base draped on top over a semicircular arch. Slightly higher are three partially drawn arches, resting on three detailed capitals supported by partial, schematically drawn columns. The capital on the right is a square with ornate, partially open-lattice work. The middle capital is the least detailed, having a few floral features, and the capital on the left has a modest floral design. Near the left side of the paper at the same level of the other capitals, a faintly sketched column and capital are visible. Moving to the top of the page, on the very left, a crowned person is seated under a pointed arch topped by an open-winged angel. The seated person wears a toga-like garment with one arm wrapped around a pillar bearing an indistinct creature on top and a lion’s head next to each of the person’s legs. Next to this, a rectangular drawing has some vegetation in the lower left corner but is otherwise not finished. Across the remainder of the highest series are two drawings of roundels, round architectural elements, with a chevron-shaped drawing between the roundels. At the upper right a helmeted figure holding a long sword and wearing a knee-length tunic and knee-length stockings is perched on a small platform.
