This oil painting is a portrait of Isabella Clara Eugenia, Archduchess of Austria. She has light skin, blue eyes, and light brown hair pulled into an updo with a crown of red flowers. Her neck is obscured by a wide white ruff. Below the ruff, Isabella wears an elaborate gold and white gown with elaborate floral and geometric embroidery and a long bejeweled pearl necklace. At her wrists are large and elaborate white lace cuffs, and she holds a white lace handkerchief in her left hand. She rests her right hand on a table covered in a dark red velvet. Behind Isabella, there are two swagged curtains made up of the same dark red velvet material.
