Imani Winds returns to the Gardner with renowned pianist Terrence Wilson in a concert of modern and contemporary works, half of which are by living composers. We’ll hear Poulenc’s jazzy Sextet, a landmark piece for wind ensemble, in addition to a variety of rhythmic forms, including salsa, the Venezuelan dance form joropo, tango, milonga, and Brazilian folk rhythms.
