Join us on the first Thursday of every month for a dynamic evening of sanctuary and community. Museum admission is free from 3 pm through 9 pm and programs kick off at 5 pm. Explore the magic of the Museum’s gardens and galleries at night, stop by Café G for dinner, snacks and drinks, and enjoy an evening in which music connects our voices to provide a space for self-reflection, support, and healing.
Enjoy the photo collage from Mickalene Thomas, Sandra She’s a Beauty, 2009 as you enter the Museum. Unwind to the music of Neighborhood Salon Luminary Josh Knowles in the Courtyard. Celebrate the works of famed painter Édouard Manet with the fall exhibition Manet: A Model Family, and enjoy spotlight talks about Manet by our Museum Teachers, and make your own connection to art. Explore after-hours access to the Palace galleries and special exhibition, Mary Ellen Mark: A Seattle Family, 1983-2014 in the Fenway Gallery. Stop by the Education Studio for a special exhibition-inspired art activity focusing on themes of family and connection, designed for all ages by Polly Thayer Starr Visiting Artist Daniela Rivera.
Neighborhood Salon Luminaries is a gathering of Boston's select artists and cultural luminaries. Neighborhood Salon cohorts nurture an active exchange of ideas between Boston's most innovative and thoughtful creatives, fostering collaborations and artistic networks while shaping Gardner Museum programming.

Josh Knowles is an electric violinist, singer/songwriter, and composer based in Boston, MA. He brings an eclectic array of influences to his original work, continually striving to fuse his traditional foundation with modern songwriting, experimental studio production, and stunning live performances.
An in-demand and versatile musician, Knowles has been featured on albums by The Front Bottoms, John Nolan, Taking Back Sunday, and An Horse; performed on stages for Barack Obama, David Letterman, and James Taylor; and frequently collaborates with Cirio Collective and Boston Ballet, with whom he has appeared on stage for historic runs at the Boston Opera House and the Lincoln Center in New York. He is currently a Neighborhood Salon Luminary at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, where he performs regularly.
Advance registration is encouraged for free timed entry tickets for Museum general admission.
