CAROLYN MALACHI
Carolyn Malachi is a shining example of how music truly is universal. Her vocal talents, breathtaking live performances, and songwriting acumen have served international audiences and wowed music lovers in South Africa, China, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Japan, Haiti, Barbados, and beyond. Generating global excitement about American art and delighting local cultures are the just a few of the qualities that, according to MTV, make her “an R&B artist to obsess over.” A full-time, independent artist, Carolyn Malachi is presently producing her forthcoming album, pursuing an M.A. in Audio Technology at American University, programming episodes of the GRITS & GARRI podcast, and teaching audio production as well as Audio for TV & Film at Howard University.

BOOMscat
The Peace & Body Roll Duo BOOMscat, Washington, DC based, consists of keyboardist/drummer/producer, Asha Santee (BOOM), and vocalist/songwriter Jennifer Patience Rowe (scat). Together,they create a sound that ignites vulnerability, elevation and self-reflection. Since their conception in the fall of 2012, BOOMscat has released three projects including No Life Jacket EP which reached #18 on the iTunes Top R&B Albums, performed at several venues in Chicago on their "Peace & Body Roll Tour" including the University of Chicago, and have gained support from gospel music legend, Richard Smallwood, international performing artist Ayanna Gregory, The Gateway Arts District, Kimpton Hotels, several event promoters throughout the Metropolitan Area and many more avid music lovers. The mind requires emotional meditation. BOOMscat is the method.

DOKUN OKE
Born in Mushin, Lagos State,Nigeria, Dokun is an active local and international performer, arranger and composer. He is a self-taught musician, he graduated from Berklee College of Music and has toured and performed with Grammy Nominated Femi Kuti, and with various jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Funk and fusion bands in the United States.

ALEECYA
Singer/Songwriter, Aleecya, has been making strides across the tristate area. With her smooth vocals and ability to story-tell, she is able to woo the crowd like no other. Her style is a mixture of soul, hip hop, and jazz with a dash funk. Aleecya's influence is the music itself and its ability to bring people together. When asked why she chose music as a career path, she simply states, " I just want to make people feel and music is the best way I know how."
Capturing the ear is the first step to capturing the mind. As a DJ, Producer, Event Curator, and Community Partner, Chimel Idiokitas, also known as ReaL P, tells stories through music and social creativity. DJ Real P is the resident DJ for the 2019-20 Thursdays Live series.
