Vincent Planès is a native of Annecy, France. An avid collaborative pianist, he came to the United States to study with Menahem Pressler, distinguished pianist of the Beaux-Arts Trio. Since then he has performed in venues such as Carnegie Weill Recital Hall and Neue Galerie in New York, Jordan Hall in Boston, and as part of the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series at the Chicago Cultural Center both as a soloist and in collaboration with such distinguished artists as Itzhak Perlman and Kim Kashkashian. His European performances have taken him to France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland.
Mr. Planès is co-Artistic Director of the Festival de Musique de Chambre du Larzac (France) and was a founding member of the modern music ensemble Aïsthésis. He is currently an accompanist for the Perlman Music Program. While attending Indiana University, he served as the studio pianist for the class of János Starker. He is now a doctoral candidate in collaborative piano at New England Conservatory and has recently been granted the Presser Music Award.
