One of America’ greatest mezzo-sopranos, Sasha Cooke takes a night off from the global operatic stage to bring the Gardner Museum a program of American songs, including a Museum-commissioned world premiere from Jasmine Barnes. Cooke’s program is the perfect upbeat to the country’s imminent semisesquicentennial.
